The vast majority of people prefer living in the comfort of their own home when they age or experience mobility issues.  However, a layout that was functional ten years ago may not work now.  Do you or a family member want to continue living at home but face issues such as stairs, narrow doorways, or unsafe bathing layouts?  A renovation focused on aging-in-place may allow you to remain in familiar surroundings for longer.

By widening doorways, we can accommodate walkers, canes, or wheelchairs.  Bathrooms can be designed with safety and accessibility in mind, including features such as walk in bathing, eliminating tripping hazards such as door sills, etc.  Kitchens can be remodeled to lower counter heights for those relying on mobility aids.  Ramps or extra railing support can be added to the exterior of the house.  The layout of the main floor may be revised to add in a bedroom where possible.   Depending on the needs of the individual, we are able to suggest solutions that enhance the safety and livability of your home.

The bonus?  Many renovations may qualify for a tax credit – please visit our Education Center for more details.
